HPE 3PAR Priority Optimization enables service levels for applications and workloads as business requirements dictate. It enables customers to provision storage performance together with storage capacity; this allows them to create SLAs to protect mission-critical applications in enterprise environments by assigning a minimum goal for I/O per second, bandwidth and latency, so performance for that specific tenant or application is assured; or assign performance max limits on workloads with lower service level requirements. They also can provide high-priority applications with all the resources they need to meet service levels. The solution enables certainty and predictability for all applications and tenants and allows you to configure service level objectives - I/O per seconds limit and I/O bandwidth limit, on a virtual volume set or between different virtual domains. A virtual volume set may contain a single volume or multiple volumes. A virtual volume may also belong to multiple virtual volume sets allowing user to create hierarchical rules. All host I/O on the virtual volume set is monitored and measured against the service level objective. HPE 3PAR Priority Optimization control can be modified in real time - no host agents are required. Further, no physical partitioning of resources within the storage array is required.
