This card reader with hot-plug function is bootable can be installed either to the backside into a PCI slot or with the enclosed mounting frame into a 3-1/2" front bay of your PC. The device will be connected to the SATA interface to the motherboard and thus reads and writes compact flash cards type I/II and IBM micro drive.
