HPER over IP (or Enterprise Extender) provides SNA transport over an IP network. In conjunction with Dependent Logical Unit Requester (DLUR), HPER over IP can transport both dependent and independent SNA sessions across IP links for End Node, Network Node and Branch Network Node configurations.In addition to End node or LEN node, SNAplus2 can now operate as a Network Node or Branch Network Node. The Network Node takes full advantage of the Advanced Peer to Peer Network (APPN) facilities, including dynamic configuration and resource location.The Branch Network node combines the functions of a Network Node and an End Node. Branch Network Node can be used to subdivide a network into a backbone network and attached branch networks.
