The family of Compaq Server Console Switches allows multiple servers in a rack to be accessed and managed by one keyboard, mouse, and monitor. The Compaq Server Console Switch family consists of five models, a 2-Port, 4-Port, and three 8-Port models. The two 8-Port models provide dual user functionality, allowing system control by more then one user. This multi-user console switch has 2 user ports for multi-user console access and multi-system connections. Also it features an On-Screen Display (OSD), which displays system-related information on the console monitor, Programmable Scanning, which allows to scan any or all of the computers in the system, NVRAM Configuration - NVRAM (non-volatile RAM) set configuration information from the keyboard, Hardware Reset Switch, which resets the unit without interrupting power, Password Protection for preventing unauthorized access.
