Punchout for IT Hardware and Accessory Purchasing: Markit Credentials

 ·

Punchout integration for indirect IT device procurement is on the rise. We discussed the trend and the some of the reasons for it in this recent post: Punchout Catalogue Integration

We decided to have closer look at the level of our clients’ IT purchasing activities through punchout and whilst we can’t disclose individual client details for confidentiality reasons, we can share these numbers.

25,163 IT buyers from over 850 companies are currently using punchout procurement platforms to purchase their IT hardware and accessories from the Markit IT marketplace

Procurement Platforms Used by 859 Markit Punchout Clients

As you can see in the chart above, SAP Ariba (45%), Zycus (15%) and Oracle EBS (10%) are the most popular platforms used by our clients however when we take into account the number of end users actively buying, then the top 3 currently are, in order of active users, Oracle EBS, SAP Ariba and Coupa.

In terms of the numbers of IT buyers (through punchout) per company, at the top end we have some clients who have empowered several thousand employees to purchase through Markit. At the other end of the spectrum, some clients have consolidated their punchout IT buying into small teams of under 10 people. The average number of IT buyers per (Markit client) company is just under 30.

Markit has successfully integrated almost every leading procurement platform as recognised by Gartner’s P2P Magic Quadrant

ABB, Accenture, AGA (Linde AG), Coca-Cola, Danfoss, Ericsson, LEGO, MetLife, Rezidor/Radisson, Roche, Sanofi, Scania, Schott, SEB, Siemens, Spotify, Telenor, Tieto and TIKTOK are amongst the many well-known companies who have integrated Markit with COUPA, SAP SRM, SAP ARIBA, Zycus, DIG eProcure, IBX, Basware, Newtron, Onventis, Oracle, EBS, Meplato, Ivalua, Synertrade and others.
