De camera biedt met vier 5 MP-camerasensoren een totale resolutie van 20 MP - waarbij iedere sensor afzonderlijk een unieke functionaliteit meegegeven kan worden - en is ontworpen voor gebruik met elke PTZ-camera uit de AXIS Q61 Series, waarbij met één klik alle details te zien zijn.
De AXIS Q6100-E is tevens uitgerust met directionele audiodetectie (DAD), zodat de PTZ-camera in het geval van een audio-incident naar de bron van het geluid wordt gericht. Verder is hij voorzien van autopilot voor automatische PTZ-tracking. Wanneer één van de vier 5 MP-camerasensoren beweging detecteert, zal de PTZ-camera het object automatisch volgen binnen het gezichtsveld.
